Have a license key?

A GlanceDock key starts with GDK1-. It unlocks unlimited widget instances for the major version it covers. Paid and complimentary keys use the same steps; owner, promotion, and testing labels do not change the app’s access or add an expiry.

Activate in the app

If you still need the app, get the public Windows beta from the download page.

  1. Open GlanceDock’s tray menu and choose Settings…. You can also press Ctrl+Alt+G to enter edit mode, then click the settings gear.
  2. Select About and find the License section.
  3. Paste the entire key into License key, including GDK1- and everything after it.
  4. Click Activate. Success shows License activated. and Licensed to followed by your name.

Verification happens locally. You do not need an internet connection or a website account to activate. Saved widgets paused by the free limit resume when a valid key is activated.

If activation fails, copy the full key again without changing its contents. A key for another major version or one on the app’s bundled revocation list will not activate.

Link to your website account (optional)

Linking makes the key available to copy from your account and enables eligible roadmap participation. It does not activate the desktop app or connect the app to your account.

  1. Open Sign in. For your first sign-in, enter your email and paste your key into License key (optional), then choose Email me a code. Returning users can leave the key field empty.
  2. Enter the emailed code and complete the display-name setup if prompted.
  3. Open Your account, paste your key into License key, and choose Link key.
  4. Once linked, choose Copy key whenever you need the full key again.

Use the email associated with the key when one was supplied. A different email, or a complimentary key issued without an email, requires review. Keep your own copy while a link request is pending. One key can be linked to one account at a time.

Keep a recovery copy

Save the complete key somewhere private. It contains your name and, if supplied, your email address. The app also stores its activated key in license.json beside layout.json in its configuration folder.

Unlink this key on the website only removes the account link. Remove license in the app removes local activation and returns to the free limit of three active instances across all monitors. Extra widgets remain saved and resume when you activate a valid key again.
