Terms of Sale & Use
These terms cover how GlanceDock is licensed and sold. They are written plainly on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email support@glancedock.com.
1. The license you buy
GlanceDock is licensed, not sold. Buying a license grants you a personal, non-transferable right to use the version of GlanceDock it covers.
- One-time payment, per major version. A license is a single payment that covers a major version line, with no subscription and no recurring charge.
- Founder license: $9. Sold during the public beta. It covers every 1.x release, and every future major version (2.0, 3.0, and beyond) at the original $9 you paid. That price never increases for you, whatever the public price becomes.
- Standard license: $19. Available from 1.0 onward. It covers the 1.x release line.
2. The free tier
GlanceDock is free to use with up to three widget instances total, with no time limit and no expiry. The free tier is a permanent floor, not a trial. Every widget type, privacy mode, and multi-monitor support are included; the only difference is the widget count. A license removes that limit.
3. Your license key
- Named and personal. Your name (and the email you purchased with) is contained inside your license key. The app's About box shows "Licensed to <your name>". The key is yours to keep, back up, and restore.
- Non-transferable. A license key is issued to you and may not be resold, sublicensed, or transferred to another person.
- Offline by design. Your key is verified on your own machine using local cryptography. The app never contacts us to activate or check a license.
4. Payments, taxes, invoices & refunds
Purchases are processed by Paddle acting as the Merchant of Record. Paddle is the seller of record for your transaction: it handles the payment, calculates and remits any applicable taxes and VAT, issues your invoice or receipt, and administers refunds.
Because Paddle is the Merchant of Record, refund requests are handled by Paddle under its refund policy. Start a refund from your Paddle receipt or by contacting Paddle; we can help point you in the right direction if you email support@glancedock.com. We never receive or store your card details.
5. Warranty & liability
GlanceDock is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose. You use it at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the software or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for your license.
6. Acceptable use & key revocation
Your license is for your own use. If a license key is publicly shared (for example, posted where strangers can copy it), we may revoke that key so it can no longer license new installations.
Revocation does not delete anything or disable an existing setup: widgets you have already placed keep working. Revocation only affects a leaked key's ability to license further use. We do not revoke keys on suspicion, only for keys that have been shared publicly.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product and its sales pipeline evolve. Material changes will be reflected on this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
