Founder status, on record
Your founder purchase is recorded with your license, so it shows as a founder badge on your glancedock.com account and roadmap posts (coming with the buyer area) and locks your $9 price on every future major. The app’s About box simply reads “Licensed to your name”, verified fully offline.
Founders help steer what ships next
Founder pricing exists because early buyers fund development directly. A buyer voting board is coming to this site, where founders post and vote with a founder badge, and that input helps decide which widgets get changed or added first. The $9 price lock, though, starts the moment you buy.
The honest license
- Named offline keys. Your name lives inside the key and shows in the app’s About box. The key is a cryptographically signed message, verified locally with the same class of math a browser uses to check a certificate without calling anyone.
- No phone-home, ever. No activation, no telemetry, no account requirement. The app never makes a network request to license itself. The free/paid gate is enforced by code inside the app, offline.
- Buying never requires an account. The receipt email is the delivery channel; you paste the key into the app and you’re done. A website account is an optional perk layer, never a requirement.
- Nothing is taken away. If you never upgrade, you keep the free tier forever: a hard floor, not a trial. Existing widgets always keep rendering; the only thing a missing license does is stop you adding a fourth.
Pricing questions
What happens at 2.0 if I’m a founder?
Your price is locked. When 2.0 (or any future major) ships, a founder upgrades at the original $9 they paid. It never increases for founders, whatever the public price becomes.
What does “3 widget instances” mean?
Free means up to 3 widgets total across all your monitors. Every widget type, privacy mode and multi-monitor are included; the only limit is the count. Nothing is ever deleted: if a layout already holds more, it keeps rendering; you just can’t add a fourth without a license.
Is there a trial period?
There is no time limit at all. The free tier is a hard floor, not a countdown. An offline time limit would be trivial to reset, so it wouldn’t be honest; the 3-widget count is the real, honest gate.
How do refunds work?
Payments run through Paddle as the Merchant of Record. Paddle is the legal seller and handles VAT, invoices and refunds.
